My name is Madison Powell, I am a 5'10" senior. I have played volleyball all my life. I am known in my town for my leadership. I have been complimented by coaches for my knowledge and view of the other side of the net, and how smart of a player I am. They have complimented my great attitude on and off the court demonstrating that I am coachable. As a freshman, I was immediately placed on the varsity volleyball team. Everyday since, I have put in the hours on and off the court. I have played club volleyball for the past five years as well. The past three seasons, Yuma has won the regional title three years in a row, moving on to the state tournament. The past two years, we have won the district titles as well. This season, I was able to help lead the team as a senior. For the first time in Yuma history we won the Ft. Morgan Volleyball Tournament, Akron Invitational Tournament, Districts, Regionals, and moved on to State. This year, Yuma was in the State Championship game for the first time in twenty-four years. With an unfortunate loss, we were the State Runner-Up. This past summer, I attended Pat Powers volleyball camp for the sixth year in a row. It was hosted at the 303 Club Volleyball site. There, Coach Erik and his members took immediate interest in me offering me a spot on the team right away. I will be playing with Coach Erik on the 303 18's Elite Roshambo Club this year. I will have to travel 10 hours twice a week in order to attend practices. With this, I had to alter my school schedule in order to make practices on time. I am very dedicated to the sport I love. I live and breath volleyball, doing anything to improve my skills and knowledge.
