My name is Lyndsey Werner and I am currently a freshman playing volleyball at Iowa Central Community College. I also played 6 years of club volleyball. At the age of eight (8,) I became fascinated by the sport and have been motivated to become a better volleyball player ever since. Although I have played every position on the court, I excel in the back row as a Libero or Defensive Specialist. During my 3 years as a varsity player, my accomplishments have been: team captain, 1st and 2nd Team All-Conference, defensive MVP, and Co-MVP awards. My leadership skills and spirited presence on the court has motivated my teammates to play harder and be their best on and off the court.
I am as competitive and as hardworking in the classroom as I am on the court. Not only have I maintained an A-B average in school, I volunteer at many volleyball camps and am a club volleyball coach for Storm in Fort Dodge Iowa.
I am a dedicated and supportive teammate at all times. Throughout my volleyball career high school, club, and now college level I have been told I listen well to instructions and suggestions. Many coaches have commented about my positive attitude and competitive drive being an asset. I am a player who strives to push myself and my teammates. My passion for volleyball will never fade and my goal is to play competitive volleyball at a collegiate level.
