My name is Kyleigh Kappas and I am a senior at Douglas County High School based in Castle Rock, Colorado. I have been playing volleyball for 6 years and club volleyball for 5 years. Throughout my volleyball career I have learned and played various positions on the court. One may call that a "utility player", but I call it a "team player". I started my career as a Setter/Right side, but then shifted into playing Libero/DS for my high school varsity team and my 16s club team. In the last year and a half I have gone back to the position that first helped me fall in love with the sport... setting. As a setter I have had experience setting both a 5-1 and a 6-2. I know how to run many offensive plays such as; a slide, 31, 3, A, B, etc. I am very coach-able and am always eager in learning new technique. I am also very dedicated. I will bust my butt to get every ball so that it doesn't hit the floor.
Volleyball is very, very important to me, but academics come first. I am a Student-Athlete. I have worked hard in earning a Cumulative GPA of 3.75, while taking 4 AP Classes and maintaining heavy school involvement. I am currently the Student Body President at my school, I am a member of the NHS, Link Crew, and FBLA, and I am also the Captain for the volleyball team.
My goals and aspirations include playing collegiate volleyball and receiving a quality education. What makes me a great candidate for YOUR team is that I am a great leader and team player. Though I love to help lead individuals/teammates into successful situations, I also love to learn and follow those who are leading me as well. The thing that makes me different from other recruits is that I value commitment, excellence and dedication in all that I do. I recognize that hard work and character are the cornerstones in becoming a model recruit and eventually a team-player.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope you give me the chance to prove myself and play for you.
