I started playing volleyball in 6th grade but didn't realized just how much fun it was until my freshmen year. As a freshman I made the sophomore team and as a sophomore I made JV. I was extremely disappointed when I did not make varsity as a junior but I was also thankful. For the first 2 years of my high school career I was a three sport athlete playing volleyball, baseball, and earning a varsity letter as a sophomore for basketball. Not making varsity my junior year pushed me to give up basketball and play club volleyball which has been one of the best decisions of my life. Playing club allowed me to grow exponentially as a player so that I can reach my goals.
One of the things that makes me different from other recruits is my mental toughness. I had the great opportunity to play high school baseball on the "boys" team as most people would say. Playing with boys and being coached like a boy really helped my mental toughness. It showed me not to let anything get in my way and if I make a mistake, I know I can get the next one whether it be a pass or a hit. It also opened my up to the male sports world and made me realized just how different girls and boys are coached in high school.
