Cierra Boaz '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cierra Boaz and I'm 5'11; Setter for Cypress College in  Cypress, California. I'm presently a Freshman.  I played on the Varsity Volleyball team for three years.  I was voted team captain for both 2011 and 2012 school year and was named All around MVP First Team for the Goldenwest League 2012 and MVP All Around for Loara High School 2012. I was also selected All Around CIF 2012 4th out of 208 young ladies and 26 teams. 2012-2013 United Stated Marine Corp Distinguished Athlete Award. In 2011 I was awarded MVP varsity offensive player of the year. I was voted 2012 MVP for the Loara Invitational Tournament. In 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009 I was awarded Scholar Athlete by my peers for yearbook and voted First Team All-League Golden West for both 2010 and 2011.  The most recent award was given in May of 2013 which was Athlete of the year voted on by the coaches at Loara HS.  I'm involved with ASB (Student Body) and have held the position of Athletics Commissioner for the last two years, which reports on school sports wins, losses and players of the game, and shares that information during morning announcements.  Outside of school I'm involved with Youth and Government for the YMCA, and I'm a YMCA Camp Counselor.  I have five years experience playing club volleyball.  I'm eager to play collegiate volleyball, and would appreciate any opportunity to achieve this.  I have both letters of recommendation from my high school coach as well as the director of sports from Loara High School.   My foremost desire is have the opportunity to play college-level volleyball while getting the higher education I need, and want, for my future ambitions.
