My goals for college are to play high level volleyball and get a degree in a field that interests me. My positions are middle blocker and outside hitter. One of my strengths as a player is that I am a good blocker and fast on my feet. I believe that I bring a good attitude onto the court, and that I am focused on doing my job correctly. I play for the Ozark Juniors Volleyball Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I go to school at Rogers High School, where I play on our varsity team. I play all six rotations, and switch between a middle, outside, and right side hitter. When I'm in the back row, I play left and right back, or set if needed. I believe that I am a very versatile player, and that it is a good strength to have. I am doing private lessons once a week to work on specific skills that I need to become a better player, and get extra reps on things I might not get in practice.
When I am not on the court, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family. I really like the outdoors, and often go kayaking, boating, fishing, hammocking, and hiking. I also like to just be at home in my bed watching movies, or drawing pictures of my favorite characters. I love animals, and I get really excited when I go to aquariums or zoos. I am a shy person, but I do like going to high school football games and dances with my friends. I play the cello, and this year I made it into the top orchestra at my school.
Track is quickly becoming another favorite sport of mine. High jump, hurdles, long jump, and occasional sprints are my main events, but I am giving pole vault a try for the 2017 season. I was given the opportunity to compete in the state meet as a freshman, placing fourth in high jump. This year at state, I qualified for high jump, as well as the 100m hurdles. For the first time, I competed in Arkansas’s 2016 State Heptathlon, where I placed 6th in the whole state. I am currently doing strength and jump training with my track coach to increase my vertical and prevent injuries.
