I consider my freshman year my most beneficial year of volleyball. I got the chance to have a strong leadership role on the team setting the tempo and energy for that season. We ended up winning our Jr High district tournament while overcoming many mental obstacles as a team. That season taught me many lessons as a player and person. Through volleyball I learned that self-sacrifice, commitment, and communication are not only lessons you need on the court but also in day to day life.
So far this season my energy/enthusiasm has lifted my team when tensions were high. When things get tough and we were getting down on ourselves about mistakes, I'm taking a leadership role by showing extra effort and a positive attitude.
I'd love the opportunity to further my volleyball career while getting the education that I need for my future.
