Maddy Ruehl '14 Recruiting Profile

While academics are my priority, volleyball is my passion. I began playing volleyball when I was ten years old and started club when I was eleven. Since then, I have been on the top teams of my age group in both school and club. As I am attending University High School (the 4th best high school in the nation), academics have only become more important. I am very glad that I am able to be successful in both and still have time to continue doing other things I am passionate about, such as volunteer work and singing. I am currently working with a personal volleyball coach as well as a physical trainer to improve my game. I have recently started to play sand volleyball and have already been in seven tournaments here in Tucson and one in California. Playing sand has only increased my love of the game and has improved my court skills. 

My dream is to play at the college level while excelling academically. I am very interested in science and hope to major in either pre-dental or pre-med as I would like to be either an Orthodontist or a Pediatrician.
