Personal Statement

I started playing volleyball at the YMCA in the 4th grade. Before I played volleyball, I danced for 2 years (ballet/jazz/modern dance) and participated in Taekwondo for 6 & 1/2 years (2nd-degree black belt). I have played club volleyball (MB,/OH/RS/OPP) on the top teams at Arizona East Valley Juniors for 6 years. As a freshman on my high school volleyball team, I was the only one selected as a dual player on both JV and Varsity. As a sophomore, I was a starter OH for the varsity team and help lead my team to 5th place overall in state playoffs.

Volleyball has allowed me to meet new people, make memories with my teammates and opponents, learn life lessons, and discover my drive for excellence. I am a very disciplined student athlete as I have maintained a 4.2 (honors) GPA while training and competing.  I am a versatile athlete  as I can play several positions at the net, including setter, Most importantly, I am always respectful of my teammates, coaches, and opponents and get along well with others. My parents have taught me that integrity and humility are the most important traits a person can possess.
