Alissa Elwing '13 Recruiting Profile

Track is my passion. Many of my friends would say I am obsessed and I wouldn't argue. I am an extremely dedicated and hardworking athlete, always striving to get better and stronger. I understand the importance of my training and I am one of those people who loves to be the first one on the track and the last one off. I am also a coachable athlete, I will work as hard and as long as it takes to do what is asked of me. 

I take great pride in representing my school as a student athlete. Brookfield Cental High School has an extremly successful girls track and field team and I have run in every varsity meet since my freshman year. I was a part of 7 of our team's 13 consecutive conference titles. As a freshman I earned 1st team all-conference. This year as a junior I placed 12th in the 400 at the WIAA State meet and was named our team's MVP.  I also have 4 years with the Congress Track club. With them I competed in the 2009 AAU Junior Olympics. 

It is my dream to continue running track at the collegiate level. My team is my second family, so it would be very important to me to be a part of a team that is very close and has a strong bond. In addition to the athletics, my acedemics are also very important to me. Physical therapy is the area of study that I am most interested in, so schools with a good pre-physical therapy program and other health science majors would be the most appealing. I am open to all different types of schools but I would like to stay in the midwest.
