I began my track career when I was a Freshman. It was not until my Sophomore year I started to run the 300 hurdles. I can still remember the day my coach pointed at me and said " you're running the 300s tomorrow." Standing at a whopping 5'2, I looked back at him and said "ok coach!" But I was thinking "you're nuts!" The next three years I developed a love for the hurdles, and learned that you don't necessarily have to be 5'10 to be a 300 hurdle star; in the end, it's the one who has the guts that wins. It's a tough race. But not as tough as the 400 hurdles. That's an entire different animal. But I can't wait to run them in college! I am looking for a school that will help me develop not only as an athlete, but a student as well. I call myself a STUDENT athlete, which means academics come first. I am excited for the upcoming opportunities I will get this year.
