Makayla McGowan '16 Recruiting Profile

I have always been determined to improve myself in regards to both academics and athletics. I believe that there is always another goal to be set and exceeded. This is an important mindset to have in order to be successful in the long term.  My education and academic excellence is very important to me and it will remain my priority throughout my college years; however, I have the same desire to do well in track and field, which has throughly taught me to manage my time in order to make sure that I am constantly doing my best in both areas. I love to see my teammates improving just as much as myself. As incomparable as it sounds, being a varsity cheerleader for 3 years of high school has also helped me in track and field because I am constantly uplifting and supporting my teammates which is an important part of working alongside other athletes. In regards to my character, I am a very optimistic person and I attempt to make the best out of any situation. I look forward to competing at the collegiate level and creating memories that I will never forget.
