Taunysha Bailey '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Taunysha Bailey and I am a rising senior at Westfield High School, where I compete in varsity track both indoor/winter and outdoor/spring. Over the past five years of running competively, I have realized my passion and talent for the sport and my strong desire to continue my athletic career at the college level. I am a very dedicated student-athlete and my hard work has helped me obtain District Champion and All-Regional awards as well as multiple individual titles in both outdoor and indoor track. I have been fortunate to also have a very strong team, which I have led to team championships and Regional titles on multiple occasions. On my team, I am often a source of enthusiasm, encouragement, guidance, craziness and I am always eager to do what it takes to help my team to victory. I regularly compete in at least three track events in a single meet during outdoor/spring (400, 4x1, 4x1) and indoor/winter (300, 4x2, 4x4) in order to improve the team's score. I thoroughly enjoy the hard work of training and the excitement of competing. In a college, I seek a highly ranked sprinting/long sprinter running program as well as strong academics. I’m looking to go to an urban or rural school and I am interested in studying in the fields of Biology, Health Sciences and Nursing. My ideal college will provide me with a valuable education and coaches who will help me increase my athletic abilities and times as well as reach the next level in a life-long running career.
