Maeghen Wedgeworth '10 Recruiting Profile

My name is Maeghen Wedgeworth, and I am a senior at Gregory Portland High School in south Texas. I am extremely excited for college athletics! To give you a picture about me, I am 5"10, 145lbs, and an accomplished distance runner, basketball player, and well rounded athlete. I have participated in athletics, primarily running, since the fourth grade. I competed at AAU Track and Field from the minimum age up until I was 14. Also qualifying at the National level several years. In high school I took Captain Positions in all my sports, and work great with all my team mates. I take my sports very seriously; to me it is a lifestyle. I also excel in school while taking AP classes and electives. When it comes to my sport, quitting is not an option. Now that I am graduating this spring, I cannot imagine my life without the thrill and passion I have for running competitively. I love the challenges, coaches, and family/team that go along with it. When it comes to schools, I am primarily interested in larger schools, but I will check out any of my options. I am open to anything. Education is the main aspect so I plan on going to a college with a good athletic program and my desired major: Biology. My geographic range is not limited, but Texas and surrounding states would be my first choice. In my athletic college goals I have big aspirations but am realistic about them. I strive for DI but will accept any invitation to continue my athletic lifestyle through college. I will consider any and every opportunity I can get to participate in College athletics!
