Hello, my name is Tiffani Peacock; I am 17 years old and I'm a junior at Lorena High School in Lorena Texas. I compete in AAU Track and Field and I'm an elite USA gymnast. I compete in the heptathlon, pole vault, 400 meter hurdles, Javelin, and the 800 meter run . I started track in 2009 when I was 10 years old, I qualified for the Junior Olympics in the 400 meter to compete my first year. For the next five years I've changed events; I added hurdles and multi events and again qualified to the Junior Olympics five more times. I have competed at the Club Nationals in 2013 where I competed in the pentathlon, 800m, and 100m hurdles. I placed fifth in the pentathlon, and made finals in the 800m. In 2014 I qualified for J.O. in Des Moines, Iowa, competing in the muti, 800m run and 100m hurdles. 2015, I qualified again for the Junior Olympics in the heptathlon, 400 meter hurdles, and open javelin.
Competing track and field in college has been my goal ever since I began to run and when I first qualified to the J.O. in 2009; it was then I realized how much I truly loved to run. It would be an honor to represent a college in track and field. By attending college it will also help me achieve my academic goal; becoming a veterinarian. I intend to graduate with a degree in an animal science field and doctorate to then apply for the Veterinarian program. My whole purpose is to compete with the best of the best in college while obtaining a college education.
I am a very strong and athletic athlete. I have qualified in both track and field and gymnastics in national settings. I have the determination, skills, work ethic and drive to compete with the best. In gymnastics I have been to Regionals, Nationals, and Westerns; these qualifiers only take the best athletes that compete in their Region. I am no stranger to hard work, on a daily basis I'm in the gym every day of the week doing 20+ hours of gymnastics as well as track three times a week on top of that. I also have great sportsmanship, I listen and take correction from coaches as well as from my peers. I understand that they are there to help me as well as help me achieve both our goals.
I have set my goals; made my mind up, I will be ready to compete, learn and expand my abilities as an athlete and college student. I look forward to my future as I pursue dreams!
