Jazzkia Jones '13 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Jazzkia Jones and I am currently a junior at Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Tx. I am competing on varsity for the second year in a row. Earlier this year I participated in Cross Country and have been recieving offers from Lipscomb University for my outstanding performaces. As a sophomore last year, I won third in district in the 400m and we got first in the 1600m relay. I then moved on and achieved regional finalist in the 400m and second place in the 1600m relay. My relay went on to compete in the State 4A track meet and the overall Lancaster Lady Tigers team got third place. This year me and my team plan on bring home the State Championship title and I plan on contributing points with my 400m and the 1600m relay.

I have been running track since I was five years old. I started on a summer league team called Lancaster Lightning were the head coaches are Terry Caro and Sterling Starks. I have qualified for Nationals four times and have competed at the hightest levels against some of the most competitive people. I am currently ranked as a young women according to the summer track guide lines. Track has been my passion since I joined Lancaster Lightning and the previous years have contributed tremendously. I continue to work hard in practice and keep my head on straight because I know one day o another track is going to take me somewhere bigger and better in life.

My goal in life is to have my own pediatrics office. Since I was a little girl I have always dreamed of being a pediatrician, and I plan on accomplishing that goal/dream. Hopefully track will help me reach my goal by paying for my education through college, but if not than loans and grants here I come because nothing is going to stand in my ways of doing what will make me happy later on in life.
