My mom was the first reason I wanted to run track at a collegiate level. I was my dream since 7th grade to follow in her footsteps and run at her Alma mater. But you never really know what you have until it's gone. My whole life track has been a huge part of it, but it was until during my Freashman year when I pulled my hamstring did I really appreciate fully what a gift I was to be able to run and compete. Being out for summer of competing made relize how much I love tack and how important it is to me.
I was able to compete the next year and qualified for the AAU jounior olymics and the following year. It was until I found my current coach that really helped me improve in track. He did not just emphasize winning, but character, attitude and grades. He taught me the importance of sacrifice , self discipline and leadership. I know I would bring all of theses qualities to any time I am on.
