I come from a long background of athletes and coaches. I have grown up understanding the meaning of hard work to accomplish my goals. My goal has always been to be my very best in all I attempt. I feel like Track helps me to accomplish this goal because I have to push myself hard to be my very best, and in the process it has also made me successful! I also love to play team sports (Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball, Tennis (doubles), but with Track there is only myself to rely on, and I like pushing myself because of that.
I began running Track as a sophomore. My school did not have a Track program, so I trained on my own with my dad. I was given the opportunity to compete in several invitationals, and also at the District meet. I advanced from District to Area, then to Regionals in the 800m (2:33) that year. My junior year, I decided to run the sprints. I was District Champion in the 100m, 200m, and 400m. At Area, I was champion again in the 100m (13.35) and the 400m (63.20), but took 3rd in the 200m (27.93). Again, I advanced to Regionals in all three of these events. I look forward to decreasing my times, and meeting my goal of advancing to State. My senior year, I ran the 100m and 400m. I have currently placed 1st in both events at District.
Considering myself a very well rounded person, is something I cherish. I enjoy being involved in all of our community activities. I faithfully attend church, and am an active member of my youth group. I am involved in all of our youth rallies, camps, vbs, family fun nights, youth choir, and all the seasonal programs that we put together. I have been raised in a Christian home, and is the most important part of what makes me who I am, and who I will become. My GPA is 94. I am also a member of Beta Club, Student Council, and FCA. I have a good rapport with my teachers, and a good attitude. I am respectful and honest. These are qualities I always want to have.
I think I would be a great candidate for college Track because of my strong work ethic, determination to be successful, and my good attitude. I am genuine, and have a true desire to become successful. I would love to be given the opportunity to show it!
