I started running track about a year and half ago as an 800m runner, as my interest grew in the sport, I tried the long jump, high jump and hurdles before falling in love with running the 400 and 200m. The College of my choice will have high academic standards with an early education program with an emphasis on graduating student athletes.
When I'm not working hard at school, training and working on perfecting my running technique, I enjoy reading, sewing, crafts, shopping (as most girls do) and going to the movies with my friends.
My family is very important to me as we spend a lot of time together. My Mom is a Regional Sr. HR Director for Hospitals in North Texas and my Dad is a Realtor and Mental Health Professional for the County. I have 2 younger brothers and 2 sisters. So with 7 of us, the house is always fun and amusing. My parents have raised all of us with the motto to give 110% in everything we do! I love this motto, seeing them give 110% to all they do; show’s me I can do it to!
As long as I could remember, I have wanted to be a teacher for grade school children and possibly minor in physical education. In the summers, I spend time with my little sister, I love being able to teach her how to read, write and we work on crafts. By seeing her learn and get excited motivates me even more to know this is what I want to do in my future.
