Personal Statement

My name is Jenna Rosales and I look to keep improving and pushing myself in the sport of running once I graduate highschool. I want to get a great education along with being able to run with a competitive team both in cross country and track. I aspire to be a vetenarian and later on own my own clinic. I prefer a small campus for college over a massive university. In practices I push myself everyday, I may not have loads of talent like some but I run with heart and work very hard. I love racing and all the challenges it comes with. Running never seizes to make me happy and teach me discipline and dedication. I believe that running in college will help relax me from my rigorous studies. I have confidence in my athletic and academic abilities.

  • This is the summer before my junior year. At the border championships which was at UTEP's Track and Field. I ran the 3000 meter race and the 4x800 meter race, I qualified for both to head on to regionals in Colorado Springs. I'm heading over there on July 4th. This season is on the verge of being the best one I had in summer track, i'm going for another PR in the 3000 at regionals, wish me luck!
  • 2013 TexaStrong (Jr. USATF)
  • At the border championships at Burges Highschool I ran the 3000, 1500, and the 4x4. I qualified for all my events and headed to Meza, Arizona for regionals. I qualified for the 4x4 and the 3000 to go to nationals. I didn't go to nationals because we couldn't afford it. We competed for Region 10.
  • 2012 TexaStrong (Jr. USATF)
  • This was the summer before my Freshman year. We ran borders but we chose not to go to regionals because we were focusing on training for Cross Country season. It paid off! This was my first year participating on this club team and in summer track.

Training

  • Boxing/MMA
  • 1 year
  • I had one year of training for boxing with my uncle as a personal trainer, during my 8th grade year. It helped for my upper body strength for my form and it benefited me for running. I also trained MMA with him as well. I did Kempo training when I was younger for 3 years.
  • strength training
  • 2 years
  • I've been on and off with my strength training for my quads and the rest of my lower body to improve my running and to recover from an injury. I've been trying my best to be consistent to get a lot more strength in my legs to prevent any injuries :)
