Ashley Myers '15 Recruiting Profile

My dream as a little girl was to play sports beyond the high school level. As being on both Volleyball and Track teams all 4 years of high school it has made me strive even more to go above and beyond to achieve this goal. I love to work hard whether it is on the court, on the track, or even during practice time I always and striving to do my best, and making my self better. Through out these past two years of High School there have been some rough times in both Volleyball and Track. One of them tough times was moving schools. I moved during my Sophomore year after I had finished my last Volleyball season in Ingleside and moved to Edna just in time to start basketball. This move did not scare me in sports one bit. I knew what I could do and I was there to help the new team I was a part of. I knew it was going to be different, because I was with a totally different group of girls, but with my positive mind set I took on the challenge. Not only did I help the track team here in Edna my Sophomore year I lead them. I ended up being the fastest one on the team and the coach wanting me to run every relay. Accomplishing that mile stone of leading the team boosted my self confidence 100 times more. I knew from then on that if I put my mind to it, then I could accomplish it. I will continue to work hard going into my senior year, and strive to make this year the best one yet in every practice, game, and sport I play. And I will continue to get stronger and improve in everything I do, so I can fulfill my lifetime childhood dream.
