As an incoming senior, I still have one more year to go before I attend college. Even though people can change a lot in a year, I know that my goal to run track in college will not change. Ever since the seventh grade I have wanted to run track after I graduated from high school. I would love to receive advanced training that would take me to the next level because I want to cut my times down as much as I physically can so as to become the best runner I can be. My goal is to be as competitive as possible in top meets. This previous year, my junior year in high school, I ran a 26.73s 200m at districts. The following week at the area meet I ran a 25.80s 200m. Another week later I ran a 24.71s 200m at the 5a regional meet in Lubbock, TX. Between these three weeks I averaged around a second drop each week. Even though a 24.71s 200m is not a stunningly fast time, what is important is the potential and the fact that I was able to shave off that much time from week to week. Track is the only sport I participate in, so it is very important to me and receives my full attention and dedication. Not only do I want to be competitive athletically but I would also like to be competitive academically and graduate a university with honors.
