I've been running since my freshman year of high school, and of all the sports I've played - soccer, ballet, gymnastics, swimming, etc - I've never loved one as much as I have cross country. Through this sport, I've truly grown as a person: from a shy, timid ninth grader to team captain. Running has taught me how to push myself past my comfort zone, what my true talents are, and, most importantly, how to be a leader.
I believe I'd be a wonderful addition to any team. I'm dedicated, extremely passionate, and a hard worker. Running is my number one; of all the extra-curricular I do, running is above them all. I go to JV races and JV meets even though I've been on Varsity since day one. I practice like I race, because I believe that hard work will always beat talent.
Running in college is very important to me. I'm not doing it for the scholarships or the money, like many do. I'm doing it out of passion for the sport. I couldn't imagine a life without track and cross country. Running is who I am.
