Jonae Bond '17 Recruiting Profile

I attended Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School in Ajax, Canada. I competed in the short sprints. I was team captain for my school track and field team for the past three years. My coach used me as a role model to the team because of what I have accomplished on and off the track.

Since I began running track three years ago, I have fallen in love with it and I know I have the abilities to pursue great things. I've learned that I do have talent and I am capable of doing anything once I put my mind to it. I have received 2 awards for breaking 20 year old school records in the 100m and 200m event. I've also received an award from my city mayor for capturing a gold medal at the state championships in 2015. 

When it comes to academics I always work to the best of my ability. I graduated as an Ontario Scholar and on Honor roll. I received an award from the National Canadian Student Poetry Association at the beginning of January 2017, for being the one of the top finalists, for a poem that I wrote about world issues.

My future goals are to compete at the highest level possible and to be successful academically. As an athlete I am looking for a school that will support me to work towards achieving my academic and athletic goals, and to help me grow as an individual. I have a great passion for this sport and I want to be able to continue my career and enhance my abilities as an athlete. I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on the team.
