My love for running began when my sister Greer joined cross country. At the time I was in 7th grade and I wanted to be just like my older sibling. I worked hard but I did not really take running seriously until I set the goal for qualifying state; with a new coach, tougher practices, and extra running I grew a deeper love for running. I want to continue running in college.
Things that have influence me are running, music, and friends. Running has showed me that I can do anything I set my mind to; this track season my goal was to qualify for state and with hard work and dedication I accomplished that goal. Music has influenced my life by teaching me a better way to express myself. In addition to my family’s support, my friends have taught me that it is ok to have failure. They are my second family and mean the world to me. Overall, these influences have made me who I am today.
Being supportive is a strong trait I exhibit. From the meets to the practices I am supportive of my teammates even on the hardest days. Whether I am visiting my grandmother in a nursing home, volunteering at a nonprofit organization, or sitting down with my family I am supporting my teammates, family, and community. I am not just there for people on their hardest days but also on their best day.
