Due to my extensive involvement within marching band and equestrian events, I am a new runner. I have not yet trained for a full year, nor have I ever participated in any other physically challenging sport. I first began track in the spring of my Junior year, 2013. I began the season with a 7:38 mile. I achieved a personal record in every race I ran, finishing the spring season, a span of 8 weeks, with a personal best of 6:05 at the mile. I continued training this past summer and am currently participating on the cross-country team. I have run in four 5k races with my personal record being 21:32 to date. I very much want to continue to train for 5k and mile events as I feel I have a lot of potential in the sport. I just need someone to give me the chance to gain training and experience. Upon completing my education, I wish to pursue a career in forensics and criminology. I would like to work with the CIA or FBI as I am very interested in understanding what motivates some of the most violent criminals. I hope to make a difference in the lives of the families of victims by solving cold cases.
