Regina Marquez '15 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to one day be recruited by a college, and given a full ride to a university. My high school goals are to run under five minutes in the mile and under 11:10 in the two mile before I graduate high school. I am a unique athlete because I went through a period of time in which I was running badly. My times were slow and I couldn't be competitive. I was able to overcome my slump and come back very strong a few months later. I know what it is like to not be considered a "good athlete" and I have been able to pull myself back up, and be competitive again. I always listen to my coaches because I know that they want the best for me, and I do not ask why they are giving me certain workouts or exercises. I will always value my teammates because I know that they will,  or will soon undergo the pain that I have undergone or will under go in the future in our workouts. I am a unique student when it comes to academics because I strive to be the best and achieve the best possible grades. I know I have to put academics first, so no matter how tired I am from practice and school, I make sure to make time to do my homework and study to pass exams and tests.
