Sports have always played a major role in my life. Growing up I have played softball, soccer, was a competitive ski racer and of course ran track. No matter what sport I'm competing in, I always give it my all. I am a very determined athlete who works hard whenever I step on the field, track, or course.
When I joined my high school's track team the winter of my freshman year, I did not know what to expect. Even though I ran track on my middle school's track team, I did not really understand much about the sport. I had no idea what it meant to be a track and field athlete and had no idea that track was even a team sport. Over the past three years my knowledge of track has obviously expanded along with my passion for the sport. I now know what it takes to be a track and field athlete and take pride in helping my high school track team win meets as well as setting new personal records for myself. Each practice I push myself to work hard in order to set personal records and beat my competition in up coming meets.
Due to my amazing track experience in high school, I strongly wish to pursue my track career at the collegiate level. I know that I have what it takes to compete at the collegiate level because I am a very dedicated and hard working student athlete. Though I am extremely passionate about track, I am just as passionate about my academics. I understand that academics are very important and take pride in the grades that I have earned throughout high school. I wish to make the most of my college experience and I know that by continuing my track career at the collegiate level will help me do so.
