Amber Scott '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Amber Scott, I am 17 years old and I am now a senior attending Ewing High School. I am a african-american female weighing at 190 with a height of 5'10. I am a team captain for Ewing Highs Track and Field Team, Home of the Blue Devils. Since middle school I tried lookng for myself and tried finding what my passion was by trying multiple things such as basketball, band, and soccer but none of them caught my intrest. But coming into track, since middle school it has always gave me a drive, I push myself to many levels just to be on the field. I work hard and not just during the season both indoor and outdoor. I am the last person to stop working. During breaks and the summer time I train to get better and because I love to do it also coming into my senior year I want to beat the record for the shotput throw which is currnntly 39 ft, mad in the 1980's. I currently throw 36 ft and my goal is before my season is over to hit 40 and more but it requires lots of work and dedication. I leave both my blood and sweat on the shotput circle, it is my passion to be a college athlete, and that is what pushes me to do better. Being a team captain, I help my team not just the throwers but also the runners and jumpers. Its about drive and pushing yourself. To me its not about throwing farther, jumping farther, or running faster then your competition, its about beating yourself. Meaning each time I strive to do better then what I did yesterday, last season and last week. As a highschool senior now I have considered multiple colleges, but some colleges that has caught my intrest has been Temple University, Monmouth University, Morgan State, Hampton University as well as others. Because I want to pursue a law career I look at schools with a good law program and they are a Universities that can offer that to me. Also because they are located in an area that I am familier with. I would like to go to a big school either up north or down south with a good law program. I would like for them to be a division 1,2, or 3 school, but as long as I am on the field division doesnt matter that much to me, but however i will be applying for financial aid and multiple scholarships. Going into college in 2011 I want to play as an athlete, I want to do more then what is expected of me. I want to make an impact on the team both on the field and off. I want to make my highschool coach proud, my parents proud, my teammates proud and my college coach proud, along with making myself proud and I dont expect anything less from me but blood, heart, sweat, work, and dedication.
