Hi, my name is Karissa Gregory and I am a junior at Owatonna High School. I have been running since I was a little kid and have had fun running from then on starting with winning those blue ribbons at a local All Age All Comer Track Club in Rochester, MN running meets for various distances.
I did start as a cross country runner competing in cross country in 7th and 8th grade and I took several 1st places and received a Rookie of the Year Award as I ran varsity for two seasons. In Outdoor Track and Field I ran various distances starting with the 800m and 400m and then transitioning to the 200m and 100m events while earning a varsity letter every year since 7th grade. I slowly progressed to the event I feel I excel in which is the 200m which I earned Big Nine All Conference in 2014-2015 for the second time (2013-2014 for the 4x100m).
I am also just as focused in the classroom with a current 3.7 GPA. I have completed three college level courses and am in other AP and accelerated courses as well as have received Academic All State and various Spotlight on Scholarship Awards. My goal is to complete and transfer at least 18 credits and I am scheduled to take the ACT this spring with a goal of achieving at least a 30 score.
I am determined to continue on at the college level and continue to be the student-athlete I have been and ideally compete at a college that is strong in academics and athletics as well as one with excellent career job placement. I would be grateful for the opportunity to be part of a competitive team and program that pushes you to realize your potential and compete at your best.
Thank you for your consideration.
Regards,
Karissa Gregory
