Personal Statement

Just finished off an amazing track season! Our team took second at conference, first at sections, and second at state! At state I competed in high jump, and the 4x100 relay. I finished 9th in the high jump, with a jump of 5'2" (PR 5'4"), and our 4x100 relay team placed 3rd, with a time of 48.62! What a great season! First off, one of my most immediate goals is to graduate high school with a 3.7+ GPA, and my Associate of Arts Degree, as I am currently a full time PSEO student. During my senior year, I would like to participate, and place at the state meet in both gymnastics and track. Then I would like to find and attend a college with a good campus ministry, a quality education, and where I can compete on a successful track team. My goal in track & field is to be competitive at the collegiate level and continue to improve. While in college, I would like to study math and science, and discover the specific career I was designed to do. As you view the video to the left, please keep in mind that I have just started doing the hurdles this track season. This is just my third time competing in this race (I was a sprinter in the past, and now I only sprint in a relay). There is plenty of room for improving hurdle form, etc., but I love competing hurdles, and I am excited to see significant improvements in my time. My high school coach encourages calls from college coaches regarding my work ethic and college potential: Meghan Orgeman 612-805-8164. Thanks for checking out my profile! Briquelle Bowden '13
