My name is Lisa-Anne Barrow and I am 17 years old, I've been running track for about 10 years. When I started running track, I was seven and I started running with the Hummingbird track club. Currently I run for Glenarden track club. When i was little, I started off as a distance runner and progressed to where I am now (running the 200m, 400m, 100mh). In my eighth grade year (2011), I competed for Barbados at the CARIFTA games in Montego Bay, Jamaica. At that meet, I came 5th in the U17 100mh and 8th in the U17 200m. Later that year, I also competed in the USATF Junior Olympics in Witchita, Kansas in the 100mh (14.50) where I finished 6th and also in the 200m (24.47) where i came 3rd. I medaled and gained Junior Olympic All-American status in both events. Last year, (2012) I strained my hamstring and was unable to compete 100% for the rest of the year. Although I was injured, at my school championships in May of 2012, I broke a 15 year record in the long jump when i jumped 17-5.50 which was my first time long jumping after about 3 times practicing it. This year (2013) I placed 6th at New Balance Indoor Nationals in the Emerging Elite 400 where I ran 58.41. I also managed to make indoor first team all-gazette for my 300m where I ran 40.69 and All-Met honarable mention. At the 2013 USATF Junior Olympic, I won the 17-18 girls long jump with a PR of 18'9 and my 4x4 team came 8th in the finals with a time of 3:46.30.
