My name is Mary Young from Des Moines, Iowa. My interest is in running track at a D1 college. My dream is to one day run in the olympics. I run the 100m hurdles which is my specialty and I also run 200's and 400's. My 2014 goal is to run a 13.9 in the 100m hurdles.I am a 2 time Drake Relays champion (Shuttle Hurdle and 100m hurdles) and a 3 time State Champion (twice in 100m hurdles and 4x100) I run summer track for Iowa Core Elite Track Club. I am currently in the NAACP and Delta Gems sorority. I do a lot of volunteer work with my church Union Baptist. I am a team leader and try to help everyone else out as much as I can. I do not lose or give up easily. As a student I am a very hard worker and I take pride in keeping my GPA above a 3.0. I believe its important for me to be the best I can be on the track, in the class room and in my community. I aspire to be the best that I can be.
