Grace Harris '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I'm Grace Harris! I have grown up all over the Midwest, living in seven different states and also in London, Ontario, Canada.  I am now living back in Wisconsin where I was born. I have been educated by my mom at home my whole life with the exception of second grade. I've participated in seven different sports, but I have by far enjoyed track and field the most! My first experience and opportunity to join a competitive track team was my freshman year in Wichita, Kansas on a home school team. I had a great experience because I had such encouraging coaches who told me I needed to continue running track because if I gave it up I would be throwing away a gift. My times were pretty average; I'm not sure what they saw in me but I took their encouragement to heart and decided to perfect my craft. When we moved to Illinois I investigated run- specific training and found "Get Fast".  I created business cards and handed them out door to door which allowed me to fully fund my training throughout the year doing manual labor and babysitting. I trained 5-6 days a week from September through June and dropped my 400 meter time from 63 to 57.03, my 200 meter to 25.97 and my 100M to 12.46 (FAT timing). I am continuing to train daily in hopes to drop my times down significantly.  I continue to work as hard as I can to maximize my sprint potential through strict, dedicated training.
