I really enjoy the teamwork required to be a successful volleyball player and volleyball team. I have played club volleyball for 7 years, school volleyball for 6 years, and hope to continue playing through college while getting a good education! I'm definitely still growing and learning as a player!
This volleyball season (senior) I finished with high kills, high kill percentage and high total blocks for my team. I was named first team all-conference and a starter on the inaugural Quad Cities Iowa vs Illinois senior volleyball match.
I'm a successful multi-sport athlete. As a sophomore, I earned 4 varsity letters in my 4 sports (Volleyball, basketball, track and soccer) and had the privilege of participating at State in 3 of them. I was also part of a state champion team my sophomore year in track as the top sprinter on my team for short sprints, running 4 events and winning the 5A division of schools with my Pleasant Valley team. (The largest division.) I finished 9th in state in the 100 meter dash and a PR of 12.3 this season. I also anchored 4 relays at both State and the Drake Relays soph year. This most recent track season spring 2015 I also ran at Drake and State in 4 events again! We won the team State Title again and I was top 5 in all 4 sprint events that I competed in. Our 3 sprint relays set school records and one( finishing 1st) also being an all time Iowa State record in the 800 sprint medley. I finished 4th in the open100m dash with a PR during prelims of 12.3. It was a pretty neat experience! I was honored to be named MAC first team all conference and also All Metro first team (Quad Cities).
I am a well rounded athlete and I believe the vertical, quickness, speed, and foot skills I have gained from basketball, track, and soccer definitely help me on the volleyball court. As a sophomore I was a starting middle hitter for the Spartans, and had the chance to compete at state! I led my team in blocks and was voted "Most Improved Player" of my soph season. I have been told I play taller than I am, at the net!
The 2014 fall season for my Pleasant Valley High School Spartan team, I led the team in kill efficiency with a 3.44, with 146 kills and serve efficiency with a .95. I was 2nd in blocks and tying in solo blocks. I was honored with being named to the MAC all conference 2nd team, and also All-Metro team- honorable mention. We finished our season 22-10, losing in the championship regional game to Bettendorf.
Overall, I am a determined athlete that is looking for every opportunity to push myself and get better everyday. Our Stars and Spikes club team last year had a very successful season. We qualified to play at the 2014 Nationals in Minneapolis and finished tying for 5th place.
**This 2014-2015 club vb season I am played for the 17B Iowa Rockets Team and had a great season with great coaches and really enjoyed the Rockets Club. We won several local Iowa area tournaments, (Sterling IL, Coe College, Ohana Club tourney) We also finshed 5th in the St Louis Pres day tourney, 5th in the Windy City Qualifier and 4th in the Northern Lights Minneapolis tourney!
** summer 2015- I tried out and was selected to do the HIgh Performance USA volleyball Iowa camp. I was selected at the camp to play with the Youth National Iowa team. We recently played in the National HP tournament held in Des Moines and finished 3rd for Bronze!
I am contining to work hard this summer and doing lots of camps and campus visits!
