Hello Coaches,
My name is Jaylin, and I began running my freshman year of high school. When I joined Etowah’s Cross Country team my freshman year I was determined to make varsity and letter. The competition was strong. There were fifty girls; many of them experienced runners, vying for seven slots. I scored a varsity spot and maintained it throughout the season. My first year of running was a success, and I was looking forward to my future seasons. Unfortunately, I was sidelined my sophomore and junior years midseason due to injuries. Still, I have trained every summer to prepare for the upcoming season. I haven’t reached my potential, but I am driven, and I work hard.
This year I was named co-captain. I have enjoyed working with new and upcoming runners. I love being part of a team.
In the past few years, I have completed a number of fun runs with family and friends. In February 2014 I did the Disney Princess Half Marathon. In November of this year, I will run in Footlocker’s Race in Charlotte, NC.
Running has become part of who I am. I want to run in college because I have not reached my potential. I am a hard-working, determined teammate. If you are looking for someone like me please feel free to contact me:
