Personal Statement

Hello! My name is Ja’Nya Bryant and I'm a hardworking young lady both academically and athletically. I love track and field and truly committed to this sport. I’m a very dedicated and coachable athlete. I'm an athlete who trains in season and off season. I’ve been a two sport varsity athlete since my freshman year and captain of my cheerleading team my junior year.  My most important accomplishments are becoming a member of The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), being nominated for the 2017 Positive Athlete High School award for the state of Georgia, being named the “Best Sprinter” for the 2014-2015 track season, listed third in the 2016 Georgia Girls top 20 list for indoor track and field, winning the 2016 Long County High School (LCHS) Homecoming Queen, and selected by my peers as Miss Senior for LCHS.

I work out every week which includes weight lifting, CrossFit during the fall season, and individual training all year round. During the summer months, I run with a USATF track team while still conditioning and learning techniques with my personal trainer. I love to run both indoors and outdoors.

Sports have taught me dedication, commitment, time management, and team work. I have been named “Student of the Month” for the month of April 2015 for maintaining high academics and great behavior while being a student athlete. I currently hold the Long County High School record in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash.  My goals are to be a part of a Division I or upper Division II team and to graduate from a university that will set me up for success in my career in Radiology. Also, I will embraced the opportunity to try out for the USA Olympic team.

I love helping others and giving back. I often work with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc in their Storks Nest which help educate low income mothers about prenatal care while providing them with baby item. I’m also in the Health Occupations Student of America (HOSA) club at my school which promote career opportunities in the health care industry.

Thank you for your time to get to know me!
