Hello, my name is Mackenzie Nail, and I am a junior at Whitewater High School in Fayetteville, GA. Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I am 5'7" and approximately 120 pounds. I have run for nine years. I began my running career with the Peachtree City Flash Youth Track and XC Team in Peachtree City, GA. While I am an avid cross country runner, I am also a competitor on the track, running the 1600, 3200, and sometimes 800 meter runs. Since running for my high school teams (XC and track), I have received many accollades: Student Athlete of the Week (4 times), most valuable runner, Coaches' Award, Wildcat Award, County Champion (1600 and 3200), 2nd place Region Champ (1600), All-State XC Team (2011), Gold All South Team at the Footlocker Championships (2011), and numerous leadership awards. In addition to these accollades, I also broke four Whitewater High School records for the 1600 (5:29.48- 1st time, 5:27.84- 2nd time, 5:18.42- 3rd time, 5:10.61- 4th time, 5th time- 5:09.76), the 3200 (1st time- 11:31.47, 2nd time- 11:18.37), the 800 (2:23.11- 1st time, 2:22.01- 2nd time), and the 5k (18:21.74). My leadership abilities also earned me the title of captain for both the track and XC teams. Because of my leadership, athletic, and academic abilities, I would be an asset to any team. I lead by example and always display a positive attitude. I am an outstanding student currently carrying a 3.9 average GPA. I take my education very seriously and realize that academics come first while in college. At this time, I am undecided on my major, but I am leaning towards a major in Journalism and Broadcasting. My academic goal is to attend a college that offers the best program of study for me. My athletic goal is to attend a school where I can run as a freshman and make a positive impact on the team. I am open to all opportunities and look forward to speaking with you in the near future!
