I'm Olivia Godfrey and I have been involved in sports my whole life. I started dance when I was about four years old and that continued through my third grade year. In fourth grade I gave up dance and started soccer and gymnastics- both of which lasted for two years. My fifth grade year, I started playing basketball, which has lasted throughout my senior year of high school. In sixth grade I started playing softball, which has also lasted throughout my senior year. In eighth, ninth, tenth, and twelfth grade I played volleyball. My junior year I decided to try out cross country; I fell in love immediately. Senior year, I joined Track and Field. In total, by the end of my senior year, I will have played five sports as a senior.
Cross Country is my favorite sport. My senior year of cross country shows how much I improved from my junior year. I cut off about three minutes from my PR of my junior year. In 2013, I have received seven awards for cross country; three of which I came in the top two. In the Regional tournament for the GICAA, I came in First place over the girls. In the State Tournament for the GICAA, I came in Second place over the girls. I also did a fun run in which I came in as the First Overall Female Finisher. Also, Trinity Christian School awarded me as the Cross Country Varsity Girls MVP.
I would love to continue my Cross Country career in college. Even though my academics come first, I am a very hardworking and determined athlete; I'm willing to go the extra mile to reach my goal. I strive to serve God in everything I do and He receives all the glory for every step of the way. I love seeing my teammates succeed and I encourage my competitors when they are in doubt. When my coaches believe in me and my abilities, so do I. Running is not just a sport, but it is also a life changing passion.
