I aspire to be a collegiate runner because I have enjoyed Track and Cross Country since middle school. I have worked hard and worked my way up my team ranks since beginning my running career. I am extremely dedicated to the sport. I will make a dedicated athlete at the collegiate level. I show leadership skills on my team as well as in the classroom. Academics are as equally important to me as my running career. I strive to always do my best athletically, academically, and socially. I have loved running since I began in 8th grade, and that passion for the sport has continued to grow with each step towards college. Even with a few minor physical set backs my sophomore year, I have pushed myself to my limit and beyond to be the best athlete and teammate I can be. I admire my coaches for everything they have done for me and I look forward to a new chapter with new coaches when I enter college. I have always been a supportive teammate to my team. I always make sure that everyone feels welcome and surrounded by friends, yet at the same time inspired to push themselves to be the best that they can be. Many people tell me I have a very bright personality. I have not missed a single cross country or track practice in the past two years of my high school career. I received the "Dedication to Improvement" award this year for the leaps I have made as an athlete for my team. I used to competitively swim for Swim Atlanta and USA Swimming while also competitively running until my sophomore year of high school. Once I entered my sophomore year, I decided to focus on track and cross country as my main sport. I was voted as captain for my XC team this year. Academically, I am always challenging myself. I am always on top of my assignments and go to great lengths to make sure I receive the best grades possible to help brighten my future. I am also a help to my teachers in the classroom. I give aid to other students who do not understand the current material with a positive attitude. I have taken many AP classes and have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge that comes with those classes. I am currently an AP Scholar. I am also a member of the National Beta Club and do plenty of volunteer service hours to serve my community. I am also an actress for my school's advanced theater department. I have written and produced my own plays, as well as acted in many other productions. I would like to study graphic design/animation as a major in college because I value art and would use my skills to help make a difference in children's lives through the creation of my own cartoons or designs.
