Janikqui Gaines '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Janikqui Gaines. I am a senior in high school. i attend The Academy of Richmond Co. High School in Augusta GA. I am 5'4, 114 lbs, and i run a 62 in the 400m. I've been running track since 7th grade. When i first started I didnt think that i would be that good. But i turned out to be way better than i had expected. I started out running every event under 800m. When i got to 8th grade i started to focus more on the 400m. My 10th grade year i placed 3rd at Regions. And 11th grade year i placed 2nd at regions and actually made it to state. At the state meet, i didnt place. but i was jus proud of myself for making it. We didnt really have captains for our team. but i always talked to the coach and made sure that i knew whether we had practice or not, where practice was held, and things needed to know for meet days. i would like to attend a school with a good athletic training program and a good track program. But im open for different types of schools. nothing specific.
