Hello!
I am a committed student athlete at Marist high school and I take both my sports very seriously. I play basketball year round, and have done so since 5th grade. I started training year round for track last year and plan to continue to do so the rest of my high school career. I would LOVE to continue both sports competitively at the college level. I have shown more potential in track and field however I am passionate about basketball also and would love to be a dual sport college athlete.
Although I love playing basketball and running track, I will not compromise my education for either. I want to end up doing something I love the rest of my life and am hoping to major in biology or journalism. I would love to be given the opportunity to study abroad or volunteer outside the country.
My coaches know me as a hard worker. I am usually the last one to leave the gym. One of the main ways I look at sports, academics, and life in general is that the only way to be fully satisfied with any outcome is to give absolutely all you have to the cause. I believe that obstacles and challenges are opportunities, not to prove yourself, but to grow and develop further.
My most valuable assets are my work ethic and my faith. My attitude and my commitment set me apart from my peers. I am excited to continue to try to improve in both my sports.
My ideal college would be one in which I could contribute to both the basketball and track and field program, but I would be grateful for the opportunity to compete in either sport and am open to any school location and division.
