I aspire to be a college track athlete while studying my major in Business. I hope to go professionally in Women's Track.
I am a very experienced runner for my age since I have been running track for 8 years and I started running under AAU. I have run for a club team called West Pembroke Pines Optimist this whole time up until the 2016 season. When I started track in my first season I ran the 800 and won state championship I also ran the 200 and 400 at the time and went on to compete in the Junior Olympics. I continued to focus on my 800 for the next 4 seasons after that and I continuously progressed in the race, but at the same time, as I was able to compete at a high level in Florida, I wasn't getting the results I wanted on a national level so I had made the decision to focus on sprints two seasons ago for the first time. I found my first season as a sprinter to be very successful. I was 1 of 2 people to represent my team, somerset academy, in its first state meet and was the only person on my team to make it for an individual event the next year, I had two of them. I also ran in Junior Olympics for my 5th time and made it to the semifinals for the 100 the following year I went back again and made it to the semifinals for the 200. I plan to continue to get better in the 100 and 200 this season as I continue to set new goals. This is my 5th year in high school track in my Junior year, my eighth year in travel, and after my 6th Junior Olympics, my new goal is to make the Trinidad national team.
I consider myself to be a dedicated hardworking individual to any task I take on; with a great desire to succeed in life. I am a very intelligent person in school with a high GPA at 4.2 weighted and a 3.4 unweighted. I never put track above my education but going to training is just as important as my academics so I have managed to find a healthy balance that allows me to succeed in both places as I take both high school and college classes, and train under my pro system.
