My name is Brianna Massarotti, I am going to be a freshman at Trinidad High School for the 2016-2017 school year. I have been running track since my sixth grade year at Trinidad Middle School.
I started off as a sprinter,in my sixth grade year, running in the 100m and 200m dash. My team needed a runner for the 1600m and the 800m at one particular track meet my sixth grade year. I had never run the 1600m or the 800m, but after talking with my coaches, I decided to give it a try for the team. The first track meet that i ran the 1600m it was against eighth grade girls and I came in first with a time of 6minutes 35 seconds.
After that track meet, I continued to run the 1600m and also began to run the 800m as well as the third leg on the 4 x 100. relay team. All through my grade school track meets I was only beat one time in the 1600m and 800m after I was tripped on the last turn going into the home stretch, which occurred in my eight grade year, by the same girl.
I love to run on my free time, I have been running ever since I could remember. I am mentally tough in many aspects, but when it comes to running, your body can run as long as you want as long as you train and stay mentally tough, which I feel that I am.
