Madison Valent '16 Recruiting Profile

My goals are to be on a Division 1 or 3 college cross country team. I also would like to be on the division 1 ski team for college. I would be a great candidate for their team because I work extremely hard and push my limits to reach the next level. I don't run cross country just to stay fit, I run cross country because I love the sport and I love the feeling of going fast and having control of my place in the race. When I finish a race, I will always go get rehydrated and then cheer my teammates on. I think teamwork and being their for your teammates is very important. I'm not like the other recruits you see running on the course. When I see people giving up, I run to them and tell them to keep going, you got this! Even athletes that aren't on my team. I also push myself in training and when the going gets tough, I push harder. The only person that can determine how you do in a race is yourself. If I push myself harder in training then when the race comes along, it will be easier and produce lower times. I also work very hard in school and try to get all A's. I have gotten many academic awards for my hard work and effort in school. My GPA is a 3.833 which can help the team stay balanced. I balance school and my athletics very well. I also competivly ski race. Even with a very busy schedule, I manage it well and perform well.
