Personal Statement

In college will bring great opportunities to experience new things and explore running outside of high school, where things come as a challenge and sacrifices are made to better the team and especially individuality. I have many inspirations i look up to such as Carmelita Jeter, Allison Felix, and Sonya Richardson they are beautiful women that execute talent on the track. It was a dream to pursue track outside of high school because I am determined to make it further if possible. I can be a good candidate by showing great leadership, determination, dedication, and hard work. I believe everything earned comes from distributing ability to perform well on given tasks or simply because faith. What makes me different is I am not perfect I have plenty to learn from experts, where they can make myself a better athlete. I show good character to coaches, team mates, and most importantly to myself because good character builds a strong mind-set. I reached many goals made during each season of track and I have many yet to accomplish and I would love to reach them. I never lose focus of the important things because being in a sport can be distractive for others, but I find it a motivation to keep good grades in order to perform well on the track. Academics has always been important to my lifestyle where I believe success comes from 90% of academic achievement. I want to strive for the bigger things because it brings challenge, I was never the type to settle for less. I find this a big opportunity and a once in a lifetime goal and I would be honored to take it and show that I am devoted as much as the coaches and future teammates. Thank you.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsI have been awarded High Honors Recognition and Honor Roll all four years of my high school career. It is an honor to be awarded such rewards because I believe in hard work to be successful. I was also award Academic All State First Team during track season for maintaining good grades during the season. Track is my favorite sport but i don't lose focus because school will always comes first and motivates me to keep my grades well and perform good on the track. I was also awarded for 2014 School Record 5A Track and Field for three races: 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400. I will continue to work hard and prove academic excellence can help plan for my future and also in sports.
  • ActivitiesI got the biggest opportunity to be involved with an organization known as National Honor Society presented by the owners themselves. In this organization we bond with other members and plan to better the future especially for students attending our school. We got the honor to be involved by executing leadership, academic excellence, and trustworthiness. It is a privilege to be accepted into NHS and I don't take advantage for it is limited for many. NHS is amazing and I enjoy the experience and would request for students to strive to get into it.
