Personal Statement
I am a 5'4" sprinter and long distance runner from Colorado Springs, Colorado and will graduate in 2011. Running is my passion and I have run 5A varsity freshman, sophomore and junior year in both cross country and track. I have qualified and participated in the CHSAA state cross country and track championships all three years, My team placed 3rd, 4th and 5th in the Colorado State Cross Country championships respectively. In track I placed 8th in state in the 800m, 8th in state in the 4x800 and 6th in state in the 4x400. I earned 1st team all region freshman year, honorable mention sophomore year with junior year yet to be determined. I am described by my coaches as eager, hard working, competitive and highly coachable.
I am very excited by the prospect of running both cross country and track at a college or university where I can contribute and grow athletically and academically. I am interested in pursuing a degree in psychology and education with an emphasis in the arts.
