If you had asked me where I saw myself my senior year during my freshman year of high school, I would have responded with "I don't know." Taking that first step into the cross-country practice as a freshman was that best choice I have ever made, because I know, for a fact, I absolutely love running with the pains of pushing myself harder, the smiles when I feel that amazing adrenaline rush, and the mental barriers I break through to discover more of myself. Nursing has been a goal I strive for, and I take the steps to do so by taking all the opportunities I can in my academics (college classes, accelerated high school courses, scholarships lists, etc.). I welcome new members of cross-country, regardless of what others think about them, because they are the future runners after I leave for college. Even though I have only been running for three years, going onto my fourth, I absolutely believe I can surprise everyone whoever doubted me this season, because I have trained through the summer on my weaknesses, have more faith in God than before, and with the State Meet in view, what else is left besides giving it my all?
