ReyAnn Rivera '12 Recruiting Profile

I have played a various amount of sports before.  The past three years I have focussed on running cross country and track.  I enjoy running because I like being able to have full control over my personal success.  I am an average sized person, five feet and five inches tall and i weigh around 122 pounds.  I would have to say out of the three years I ran cross country, this year has been by far my best.  I would always do well in practice, but the race part of it was not quite there yet.  However, this year i finally figured how to put it all together.  It was exciting to race in the state meet and finish well by receiving the second place trophy with my team.  My best race of the season was at the Sectional's meet, a week before state.  I ran a 20:25 5k and placed in the top twenty.  I was a great contribution to my team on that day because I helped us to place first, beating the team who was expected to win.  I am also a captain for my team this year.  I have always had great leadership skills, being a captain on all sport teams that I played for.  My leadership skills goes hand in hand with my competitiveness.  I am a very strong, disciplined competitor.  I never settle, always pushing myself to accomplish greater goals.  I do all that i need to in order to stay in the best shape possible, whether it be simply eating healthy or taking supplements like iron to help improve my running.  I would love to run in college because it is a sport I have learned to love over the past years.  I know it is something I will continue to carry with me for the rest of my life.  I know I would be successful and continue to improve if I were to run in college because I feel that I am just now starting to put all the running elements together.  I like larger schools rather than the small type only because I like to explore and meet all sorts of new people.  Plus a large school is what I am use to because it is what I have grown up with.  I would like to study Physiology or Kinesiology in college.  The reason I have decided to major in one of these two is because I enjoy studying something that I can apply to myself.
