I aspire to compete with a NCAA Division 1 track and field program. My long term goal is to score points for my team and ultimately make it to the NCAA championships. I am a 5’ 9” jumper and sprinter from Phoenix, Arizona and have been competing in track for three years. I also did competitive dance for eight years and gave it up in the fall of 2016 so I could fully dedicate myself to track; it was one of the best decisions I have made.
I am a very hardworking athlete who is always willing to put in the time and effort. I was team captain my junior year. As a leader, I take charge where I am needed to help out my coaches and fellow athletes. I aim to keep up the spirits of my teammates by hosting pre-meet dinners and maintaining a lighthearted and positive atmosphere. I have had much success in track and field including setting school records in both the long jump and triple jump, being named to the Tempe All-City Team for the 100M as well as being awarded “Best Horizontal Jumper” of Desert Vista’s track team in 2016 and “Most Valuable Player” in 2017. My strong work ethic has also enabled me to experience success academically. I like to challenge myself with the classes I take and expect to graduate in the top 5% of my class. I look to continue to perform well in college. I have taken all Honors and AP classes with the exception of Company Dance and have maintained a 4.0 GPA. I have received Varsity letters in both Dance and Track and have received the AIA Scholar Athlete Award for 3 years. I am also a member of the National Honor Society.
Additionally, I involve myself in other activities outside of the classroom and track. I mentor underprivileged second graders through Desert Vista’s club Community Counts. I was an active member of student council this past year. I have been involved in the National Charity League for the past five years where I devote roughly 50 hours to league hours and volunteering at various philanthropies. I also work part time at Ace Hardware as a cashier.
